For those who cannot spare ten days, the Do Dham distils the Char Dham to its two crowning shrines: Kedarnath, the highest of the twelve Jyotirlingas set beneath snow peaks, and Badrinath, Vishnu's Himalayan abode and part of the pan-India Char Dham.
The route via Guptkashi/Sonprayag for Kedarnath and Joshimath for Badrinath — often with a night at the meadow of Chopta — is strictly seasonal and weather-dependent, so it runs as an enquiry-led fly-and-drive with a driver experienced on these roads.
