Mata Vaishno Devi, in a holy cave in the Trikuta mountains above Katra, is among the most visited pilgrimage sites in India, with millions climbing the ~13-km track (on foot, pony, palki or helicopter) to the Bhawan and the Bhairon temple above it.
The circuit adds the Shiv Khori cave shrine, one of Jammu's most revered, with a long natural cavern enshrining a self-formed Shivalinga, along with the Raghunath temple complex in Jammu and Baba Dhansar — a compact but powerful Devi-and-Shiva pilgrimage.
